An Alliance of Friends
Partners
Erni and Mano employ both the traditional Négociant model of sourcing finished wines, as well as the Parcellaire approach of working directly with growers and specific vineyard parcels to ensure finer control of the wine’s journey from vine, to barrel, to bottle.

The Beginnings of a Global Friendship
Ernst Loosen and Manoël Bouchet first crossed paths in 2012 in Miami, Florida. At the time, Mano was a partner in a well-known négociant and domaine in Beaune, while Ernst’s company, Loosen Bros USA, was their U.S. importer. The occasion was a masterclass, where their shared passion for wine sparked a lasting friendship.
Over the years, their globetrotting lifestyles provided numerous opportunities to reconnect, whether in the U.S. or in the heart of Burgundy, where Mano is based. Erni, the quintessential traveler, often found time to meet up with Mano in various places, including Oregon where Erni owns Appassionata Estate. There, they indulged in their mutual love for terroir exploration during Mano’s frequent visits to the burgeoning Oregon domaine of his father-in-law, the legendary Burgundy winemaker, Jacques Lardière.
Shared Passions, Shared Vision
Their bond deepened in 2019 as Erni, a dedicated Burgundy enthusiast and collector, found a new project in Vieux Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet. He was ready to expand his horizons into Burgundy by renovating an ancient building in one of the region’s prime locations. Similarly, after 12 years of building a successful 45,000-case négociant and a 23-hectare domaine from scratch, Mano felt it was time for new ventures.
With their shared hyperactivity and a natural inclination toward creating and developing new projects, the question arose: “Why don’t we start something together?” Their combined experience and vision for winemaking, blending tradition with modernity, set the stage for an exciting new chapter, and Perron de Mypont was born.
Their collaboration is particularly timely, coinciding with a transformative period for Burgundy. Erni’s 40 years of expertise, combined with Mano’s dynamic approach, aim to bring a fresh signature to this complex region. Their joint venture is not just about producing excellent wine but also about celebrating the roots, culture, and authenticity of the region while embracing the elements of friendship and conviviality that make wine truly special.
Together, Ernst and Manoel are poised to make their mark on Burgundy, delivering a unique approach that respects tradition while embracing modern innovation. Their journey is a testament to the power of shared passion and vision, promising to contribute significantly to the evolving landscape of Burgundy wine.
